Site Plan and Design Approval
Once you approve the site plan and the design mock-ups, we begin coding
and production on the site. We use CSS, tableless web design which not
only means that search engines can index your content, it also means that
future changes to the styles can be made cost effectively. You will be given
a testing URL so that you can monitor the progress of your website as it is
being built.
Client Deliverables
Normally our clients are responsible for gathering and writing the content
for their website. You are asked to email final, proof-read text in any file
format you prefer.
Photos
For photos you need to compress your files. You can compress an entire folder
of files using winRAR or winZip. If you need to resize a large amount of
images for photo albums, you should download FastStone Resizer at download.com.
For large amounts of data and video files, you will be given FTP access to
upload your files.
Email Infrastructure
We will need a list of the email accounts you want to set up: i.e.
myname@mydomain.com, info@mydomain.com, sales@mydomain.com, other staff:
doe.john@mydomain.com, etc.
Domain Name
At this stage, you will be asked to provide your hosting and domain name.
You can check the availability of a domain name through www.pcnames.com or
www.whois.net. You will be asked to register your domain yourself so that
you will be the one receiving yearly bills and renewal information. We
recommend purchasing your domain name through your hosting provider. We also
recommend registering your domain for two years as it will produce higher
results in search engine ranking.
Hosting
Hosting is the term used to describe the service of storing your website
information so that people from around the world can access your site 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. Hosting is offered by many different companies,
and prices are based on a monthly or yearly fee. Check with us before purchasing
your hosting to assure that the development infrastructure is compatible.
We have tried many hosting solutions but always come back to Bluehost due
to our confidence in their overall reliability. Bluehost will offer one free
domain name, so if you have not registered your domain name you can do it
when you sign up. If you already have a domain name type your URL into the box
and we will help you manage the domain name transfer.

Access
If you already own a domain and have hosting, we need to know the company with
whom you have contracted along with all login and password information, so that
we can access your servers.
Change Requests
You may ask for additional requirements/changes if needed. If changes are
beyond the scope of the original estimate, we will provide additional hourly
estimates. If you approve the changes and the additional cost, the work will
be completed, and the additional hours will be included on the final bill.
